Redding, California, recently made headlines for their innovative new way to bring people together. The city has partnered with ihug, a tech company that specializes in “smart” friendship lamps, to launch “Light Up Redding.”
The initiative encourages residents to light up their homes with the ihug lamps to show solidarity with those struggling during the pandemic. The lamps come in two colors, red and blue, and are designed to be displayed in windows, on porches, and in other visible locations. When a lamp is turned on, it automatically lights up the lamps of friends and family that are connected to it.
